Ark: Survival Ascended: an ambitious remaster

The world of video games is constantly evolving, and Ark: Survival Evolved is no exception. In response to Ark: Survival Evolved’s planned discontinuation in August, Studio Wildcard has announced Ark: Survival Ascended, a complete remaster including not only the base game, but also The Island, Survival of the Fittest and all future DLC maps.

This ambitious project uses the power of the Unreal Engine 5, a game engine technology ideal for next-generation consoles.

What is Ark: Survival Ascended ❓

Ark: Survival Ascended is an overhaul of Ark: Survival Evolved, a survival MMO that places players as stranded survivors in a world dominated by primitive creatures. As well as gigantic dinosaurs armed with automatic weapons, the game offers a living, breathing, ever-changing world known as ARK, where the elements are fierce and misfortune is commonplace.

In Ark: Survival Ascended, a classic survival game, players begin their adventure naked and without resources. The player will have to learn to survive in a hostile world, create shelter to withstand the elements, hunt, gather resources, craft items, grow crops, develop technologies, and kill or tame the dinosaurs and other primitive creatures that inhabit the land 🔥 He will be able to ally with hundreds of other players to survive, dominate and escape.

What are the differences with Ark: Survival Evolved?

Ark: Survival Ascended will include the base game, as well as the following expansions: The Island, Survival of the Fittest, and all the ‘non-canonical’ DLC maps that will be released after its launch in August. So it’s a complete overhaul, not just a simple reskin.

🔺 A series of improvements and new features have been made for next-gen consoles and PC, including crossplay, anti-cheat, cross-platform modding, performance boosts thanks to Unreal Engine 5, as well as a visual overhaul using Nanite, Lumen, and RTXDI technologies.

👾 In terms of gameplay, numerous quality-of-life improvements have been added, includinga third-person camera, ping system, updated mini-map, queuing, directional sprinting and walking, new structures , and much more.

🎮 The Survival of the Fittest expansion will be integrated into the main game, with dedicated balancing, improvements, and bug fixes. However, the other DLC packs will be sold separately, meaning you’ll have to repurchase them, including the Explorer’s Pass which includes Scorched Earth and Aberration (arriving in Q4 2023) and Extinction (arriving in Q1 2024). The Genesis Pass will also be available with Part 1 arriving in Q1 2024 and Part 2 in Q2 202434.

The game will launch on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC in August 2023. 📍
